Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) - Online Support Group

We are patients living with Trigeminal Neuralgia, here for your support.

I went for my first consult at chronic pain management.  My doctors name is Ghenash Ram.  I was soo happy when I heard him speak because he speaks fluent english.  He listened and was really nice.  He thinks I have fibromyalgia type symptoms.  And that I may have TMJ.  He wants me to have MRI's and blood work done.  He also wants me to see a rheumatologist for my cracky joints.  So the yay is that they can probably help me with my pain.  But the boo is it hurts to learn that there is more wrong with you than you thought.  I don't have money for physiotherapy, chiropractic visits.  I've also been advised to swim for exercise.  But hopefully it will all workout.  Next week we're going to start nerve block injections.  So I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.   But this was the best experience I've had with a doctor in a long time.

Thanks everyone for your support.  I have to go for all kinds of tests and wait for results.  I hope i don't have osteoarthritis but the way my joints crack and hurt. . . I'm only 25!! WTF!

@Gloria I bought a treadmill this summer and use it everyday.  I love it and its good for releasing frustration.

My deadline for ODSP to give me a decision it almost up so I'm hoping they don't deny me.

Now you have a full picture of what you are dealing and while I can understand why this can be discouraging, in reality it is a good thing. Hang in there  and please keep us posted.
