ok, Hope to see you, I'll look at your site again. I got to get ready to go out too. But you should hear the cracks that come from me!

What you are experiencing is "normal". With all that you have been through it is no wonder that you are afraid of being "cracked". That is one of the beautiful things about the Atlas Orthogonal precision adjusting technique. There is no "crack" involved. Most of my patients tell me that they are amazed that we actually did anything because they do not feel the actual adjustment. Yes, I do have to do a bit of hand holding through the beginning of care. As the care continues and the patient gets used to the adjustments the fear goes away. As for feeling sleepy after an adjustment, yes this is normal. Your body is trying to go into a healing mode. We heal when we sleep so it is a natural occurance. Many of my patients experience the feeling of being "wiped out" for the first few visits or even the first few weeks as thier bodies are healing. The more that you listen to your body and take the opportunity to heal the faster you will heal. It sounds to me like you are in good hands.

I am on my way in to see patients. I may be on later and would be happy to discuss your situation further. Please look at my website first as it may answer many of your questions. www.BackToHealthTexas.com.

Heya Doc M, I am doing the upper cervical chiropractor with the massage now for the ON and it helps a bit. But I am afraid of getting cracked as it kinda hurts! They have to hold my hands and I feel very sleepy after, is this normal? Can I talk to you later about it?

First of all I would like to thank Dana for inviting me to join this group. I appreciate the fact that there is a forum for discussion regarding GN, TN and the other offshoot _Ns.

Several mentions are made here regarding meds and neurologists and the lack of whole health care as opposed to treating individual parts. What is missing from all of this discussion is an answer regarding true treatment of the neurological impairment.

The reason that many of you have never had anyone work with you in a whole body health approach is because you are looking to specialists and GPs in the arena of the AMA. Those Doctors are very good at seeing symptoms and applying various chemical and/or surgical approaches to body parts. Unfortunately it is rare to find anyone in that arena who treats people. Not ymptoms. People.

My thought, get all of the input from your MD and Neurologist. Rule out underlying tumors, strokes, etc. and then find an upper cervical chiropractor. We treat people. We help remove the interference from your nervous system and allow your body to heal. Many of us apply nutritional approaches to give your body the appropriate building blocks to grow healthy again. Often we help with the underlying psychosomatic affects that also play a role in so many health conditions. By the way, I did not just say "It's all in your head". The symptoms are very real. What I am saying is that thoughts affect the way we heal or do not heal. Often it is helpful to change our thought patterns in order to truly alow ourselves to heal.

Yes, I said it. There is a whole body and body/mind connection approach to healing and staying healthy.

If you would like more direct input from myself or one of the very specialized Atlas Orthogonal specific upper cervical Doctors of Chiropractic, please see my web page at BackToHealthTexas.com.

I hope this helps.

You know it would be nice for the neuro or any other Dr. could say, "you should make an appointment with an ENT" in cases like that. I know they do realize that other thing my trigger, TN/GN or any other __N we may have. I wish they could try to treat us as a whole and not bits and pieces.

Couldn't hurt. I usually do get a copy of any tests so that I can have them for the other md's. They all want to repeat tests or think that their scans will be better.

Hello to all. I have been suffering with GN and ON for over 3 years and need to know if there are others out there that are living with this type of pain. I have constant pain in the tonsil area, back of the tounge, into the ear and to the back of my head only on the right side. I have tried multiple meds and pain management injections. I am curious to know if anyone has had success with any medications, procedures etc. and if there is anywhere to go for treatment for GN?

I only had this one time during a GN attack and yes it felt like swollen glands along with the ear pain. LOL I have been given antibiotics for my fake ear infection before! You should talk to your Neuro and tell him about it because I am not sure, I mostly have the GN..
Elizabeth Comment by Elizabeth on September 14, 2009 at 6:27pm
I get this pain sometimes. I get a sore throat pain and pain in my ears. I thought I had a sore throat and took antibiotics, got pain in my ear after I took them and then electric shock. I feel it is like tonsillitis but goes away. Is that it? I have pain on both sides not just one. One day the right side and the next day the left side.
