Taste or sensation of metal? Posterior teeth filled w amalgam.

When my TN acts up it's like i have something metal like a penny in my mouth. All my teeth are sensitive to everything and they taste like some kinda metal. Then it goes away like nothing happened. During my attacks I am irritated by anything made with 100% cotton. A cotton ball touching my fingernail in any way will irritate my teeth. I also salivate like crazy when I'm in pain , maybe cuz my teeth taste like metal. Anyone else have any of these issues? I mean I might as well be chewing on heavy duty foil and slobbering all over the place the way this feels.
