Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) - Online Support Group

We are patients living with Trigeminal Neuralgia, here for your support.

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in awhile. Had MVD (unsuccessful) about 1 1/2 years ago. The ATN pain has never healed completely but I haven't had to take meds like tegretol, thank God. I still have the dyslexia with my typing that started when I took tegretol. In the spring I was diagnosed with epstein bar virus/chronic fatigue. I have heard of this developing in some people after surgeries. Have any of you experienced this?

God Bless.

Hi Jamie,

I  had MVD in April and like you have never been pain free although I am off all the medications now.  I take something for my headaches, but nothing prescription strength.  I am very tired all of the time and my GP says its from the surgery, I'm not so sure, I just feel like I should be stronger by now.  I did start taking vitamins at my dr's advice.

Just thought I'd share.

Donna

Do you feel lots of anxiety? My was AWFUL for a long time after surgery.

I do have some anxiety, but that is norm for me, so I can't blame it on TN or the surgery.  My family thinks I'm just to anxious to feel better and it's going to take some time, which could be true.  I did read somewhere that within 6 months you will be as good as your going to be with the MVD surgery, not sure if that is true or not.

Take care

I think you will improve up to a year. I hope you do:)
Thanks for the encouragement.
