Don't know WHERE to go for MVD?

I am at an interesting point with TN right now....the point where I need to get an MVD. My med are high and not working well...well except to kill me slowly. :)  My Neuro here in Toronto is recommending I go all the way to Winnipeg.

I have researched this...and yes...it is a great place to go for this surgery....but it seems odd that, living here in the great city of Toronto and all the great medical facilities we have, I should have to go all the way to Winnipeg? 

I have been reading that some of you have had the surgery right here in TO.  I was wondering if you might share with me the circumstances surrounding your decision to have MVD surgery and where to have it.
