It is getting colder here in St. Louis and I was wondering if anyone used instant heat pads. If so, what type do you have and do you have a way to wear them or do you just hold them? I was trapped in the house for 5 days, but as a mother, need to go places occasionally.
Thank you!
Debbie

Obviously they cannot stick on your skin on your face as that would potentially burn or tear your skin. So I wear a buff and slip either the neck size thermapads or the handsize warmers under the buff which will often hold it in place.
I also do the same with ice pads too....

Permalink Reply by Debbie on January 15, 2012 at 7:08pm Ok I just looked it up and I think I am going to love a Buff!! Heat pad or not!! It is hard wrapping that scarf around sometimes and this looks amazing. Pull it up over my face and voila!! Thank you so much!! LIFESAVER!!!
Permalink Reply by Lisa (iamrite) on January 15, 2012 at 7:16pm You are welcome! I own a Northface one that is made of really, really soft material. I carry the heatpads for when I have pain that just won't go away, but I can't take medication. For when the pain is not so bad as to stay home, that is. http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11555436... Honestly, I do not feel the wind or cold when this is on my face. It is also not too tight on your face.
Permalink Reply by Rick Bruce on January 15, 2012 at 10:55pm Hi Debbie,
For me, keeping my painful focus points warm is VERY important. Use heating pads, hand-warmers or "Disposable hunters glove inserts will all help. When these electric-shock pain jolts recur, it's a wake-up call to take your meds as prescribed daily- even when you're pain-free. You MUST take your meds daily; not only on the days that you have pain. This is very important. Also: Take daily notes about how you feel and the meds you take for yourself and your doctors. That really helps. Nobody can remember all that from day to day. Trust me. Rick
